We’ve had several successful space expeditions since 1961 when the first human- Russian cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin journeyed into outer space.

In the near future with the establishment of in-space transportation companies now, you and I will be able to launch commercially into space- maybe if the rocket-fare is really reduced to flight-like value considering it costs about $10,000 to send a can of coke to space and our long-term survival isn’t guaranteed yet by scientists.

This lucky plant however, seems to have it all figured out.
The potato was the first plant to ever grow in outer space in 1995, taken on the space shuttle ‘Columbia’.

This means it was able to sprout and bear fruit in harsh Martian conditions like 0-Nitrogen levels, Salty loose soils and extreme cold of about -62.2°C.

This makes the mother of some of our favorite things like French fries and Vodka a SUPER PLANT!

We are throwing a French fries party on mars, carry your ketchup and a space suit.
